New Hull City signing Abel Hernandez has told TuttoMercatoWeb why he left Palermo this summer.

The striker moved to the KC Stadium for a reported £10million, and in quotes published by Forza Italian Football, the 24-year-old said, “The time had come for me to leave Palermo. I’d been there for about six years and I’d done everything.

“From the high points like our promotion and getting to the final of the Coppa Italia to lows like our relegation, I gave everything and the time was right for a change.”

Hernandez scored 36 goals for Palermo and Steve Bruce will be hoping he can get off the mark quickly for the Tigers.

In other news, Chronicle Live has published a story regarding new Hull loanee Hatem Ben Arfa and his relationship with Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew.

The report cites 'a source close to Ben Arfa' who is quoted in the newspaper as saying, “Hatem and the manager have not always seen eye to eye since the 2011/2012 season, when he was left out of the team after recovering from an ankle injury.”

Ben Arfa has since joined Hull on loan and has praised his new boss Bruce for showing faith in him.

It will be interesting to see how the Frenchman does having made his move, but many expect him to be one of the bargains of the summer transfer window.
