BeIN Sports asked fans to send in questions for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as part of a question and answer session during the international break.
Gunners everywhere jumped at the opportunity to press their boss over a number of topics relating to the summer, with some fans still aggrieved by the nature of Arsenal’s transfer business.
Among the topics to generate questions was why Wenger didn’t sign a defensive midfielder? A direct question on whether he refused to re-sign Cesc Fabregas and when would Arsenal fans be treated to seeing Mesut Ozil in his best position at number ten?
The lack of movement on the transfer market for a holding player was confusing but Arsenal didn’t sign a tremendous defensive talent in the form of Calum Chambers.
The £16 million arrival from Southampton has already proven to be a very versatile player this season and Wenger has previously said he can see the youngster playing in front of the back four.
The Cesc Fabregas issue will still be a strange one to some Arsenal fans but Wenger made it clear he already has two number tens; Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla, who are capable of playing similar roles to Fabregas in the team.
Perhaps extra anger has been generated by the way Fabregas has started playing so effectively in the Chelsea midfield, which is where the Spaniard ended up after reports that Arsenal weren’t going to re-sign him.
As for Ozil, every Arsenal fan wants to see him return to the form he showed at the start of last season, which should be made more possible if he’s playing through the middle.
Here are a selection of some of the best questions put to Wenger during the session.
