Former Chelsea star Florent Malouda has dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Championship outfit Birmingham City in no uncertain terms.
The 34-year-old former France international winger took to social networking site Twitter on Tuesday to make fun of the reports circulating in the media in recent days.
Just saw another story linking me with a championship club. I don't know any Lee Clark. Must be ice bucket challenge collateral damage ...— Florent Malouda (@realflorentm) September 9, 2014
Malouda is currently a free agent after his contract with Turkish club Trabzonspor was terminated last month. Since then, the former Lyon star has been linked with a host of clubs, one of which is Birmingham.
It was reported in the British media that Blues manager Lee Clark was keen to sign the 2012 Champions League winner, but the club failed to meet his wage demands.
However, those reports have now been dismissed by Malouda, who claims that he does not even know who Clark is. Malouda, though, appears keen on carrying on playing. He is currently training with his first club Chateauroux in order to keep himself fit in case a suitable offer comes in.
