The transfer window for permanent deals may be closed, but there could be a free agent Derby County boss Steve McClaren should take an interest in.
At 28-years-old, Brama suffered a bad knee injury a year ago, but returned to feature for Twente's first team at the end of last season.
He however decided not to renew his contract, with Twente coach Alfred Schueller commenting in August, 'he wants to enjoy his free agent status.'
Brama is a five-time capped Dutch international, and a defensive midfielder with more than 200 Eredivisie appearances to his name.
His most memorable campaign came under the tutelage of Steve McClaren at Derby in which he won the only league title of his career, and was also selected in their subsequent Champions League qualifying games with Arsenal - the description of him 'hounding' the Gunners midfield hailed by The Telegraph.
Whether the Rams boss has any designs on bringing him in is unknown. It could be an inspired move though, being able to tempt Brama to take on a new challenge and re-vitalise his career.
With new Derby signing George Thorne ruled out with an ACL injury of his own, most likely for the entire season, Brama could add depth to their options.
If anybody would be able to persuade him to move to England, Steve McClaren would surely be the one to do it.
