A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko says Chelsea are the main opposition to the champions this season.

The bookies have already placed Chelsea and City at the top of the pecking order as favourites to win the league.

“As with every season, there are several teams that will battle for the title of champions. This season Chelsea might be the most serious challenger,” said the striker.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill says he’s delighted to be England’s vice-captain.

Cahill is a regular feature in Chelsea and England’s back fours, currently rated as one of the most important players for both sides.

“Wayne is the captain and he's got everyone's support, but for me to get the vice-captain role is great - The manager has put added pressure on some of the guys to voice an opinion and I do that,” said Cahill.

Fernando Torres can rediscover his form at AC Milan according to coach Stefano Eranio.

Torres is on loan at the Serie A giants for the rest of this season and next season after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

“Torres is a very humble player, he has great technical and human qualities - As a coach, I say that I would always want someone like Torres in the team. He arrives in Italy with great enthusiasm, and has specific characteristics that would suit Milan perfectly,” he told Milan news.
