Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski has tweeted as his side prepare to face Manchester City in a huge match on Saturday.
Arsene Wenger’s side welcome the Premier League champions to the Emirates Stadium in what is the first top flight match after the international break, and the German international is looking ahead to that encounter.
“Good training session today,” Podolski wrote, “focus for the big home game Saturday!”
But will the front-man be involved given the arrival of Danny Welbeck and the £16million man’s fine form for England last week?
With Olivier Giroud currently side-lined, Podolski may have thought more game-time was coming his way, but the arrival of Welbeck has put that into question once more, with Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell also pushing for starting spots.
One thing that is certain is that Podolski is always driven and excited about the upcoming games, but it would be no surprise if he is back on the bench on Saturday, while Welbeck attempts to be the star of the show on what would be his Gunners debut.
