Brazilian international Luiz Gustavo has insisted he is perfectly happy to stay at Wolfsburg and has no intention of moving elsewhere.
The defensive midfielder left Bayern Munich for their Bundesliga competitor last summer, but it was suggested in Germany that a release clause of €25 million could see him move on, reported ESPN last year.
With Arsenal needing a defensive midfielder, the World Cup star remains a credible option, but he has now moved to distance himself from any future transfer.
He told BILD: "I am very happy. Wolfsburg is a very good club. I like Germany, the mentality.
"Here I see my future and can imagine to play for many more years here."
A cynic would suggest Gustavo is declaring his desire to remain at the club and re-assessing his mentality after missing out on a big move this summer, but he did not really push for one either.
Failing to make an offer for him could be Arsenal's loss, and even if they did meet his release clause in the future, there is no indication he would necessarily jump at the chance to move on.
