Stats: Reasons why United should be optimistic and QPR pessimistic

Manchester United will likely succeed in the Premier League this weekend, while Queens Park Rangers may flounder, according to tradition…

Could tradition dictate Manchester United gaining their first victory in the Premier League this weekend?

Currently 14th in the table, United are without a win after a hat-trick of games in the division, with just two points on the board thus far.

However, according to statistics obtained during the Premier League era, Manchester United prove to be extremely successful in banking a victory immediately after an international week involving the England national football team as they have the best win percentage (72%) out of all clubs in the top division.

United host Queens Park Rangers at Old Trafford on September 14, a club who are two places ahead of them in the league having collected three points from win after three matches.

QPR, in contrast, do not fare well after the international week and have only returned three draws against five losses from their last eight matches that followed an England game.
