Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar has revealed the two best players he’s played against in his career.
The South African was asked the question during a Q&A session for the official Everton Twitter feed and of all the names he could have gone for he went for Italian legend Paolo Maldini and Arsenal icon Dennis Bergkamp.
Paolo Maldini had a phenomenal career with AC Milan which saw him accumulate 647 appearances for his club side and 126 caps for the Italian senior side.
He was an example of a perfect centre-back and someone who made the lives of various, and extremely talented, forwards difficult throughout his career.
Bergkamp will always be rated as one of Arsenal’s best ever strikers with 87 goals in 315 appearances for the Gunners and 37 goals in 79 caps for the Netherlands.
Bergkamp is responsible for some of the best ever goals scored in the modern Premier League era and he won three Premier League titles during his time with the Arsenal.
