Wolves clinched the signing today of George Swan, after a brief trial at the club.
The 20-year-old was released by Manchester City in the summer and has signed a deal taking him up until January.
Manager Kenny Jackett told the club website: "We are giving him a window-to-window opportunity where we can work really hard with him, to stay fit and play, and after that try to build up his overall fitness to do justice to the considerable amount of talent that he has."
Swan himself appeared grateful for the opportunity, using Twitter to express his excitement.
The defender had previously been held back by knee trouble, and was described by Manchester City's website as: "A commanding centre-back with the ability to read the game and his strengths lie in winning the ball in the air and his timing of tackles."
Swan, 20, had been on loan at Leeds United earlier this summer, and has experience playing on loan with Norwegian side Stromgodset.
