Manchester United breakthrough star Tyler Blackett has revealed he still receives valuable advice from Rio Ferdinand.
The 20-year-old defender has made the leap to the Red Devils first team this season, and is determined to stay in manager Louis van Gaal's plans.
He is quoted in The Sun: "I still speak with him now and he texts me after games. He was always good with young players, especially defenders.
"He'd take me for training sessions on my own where he would give me tips on defending and what positions to take up."
The England under-21 international's comments show what an interest Ferdinand still takes in his former club - who he will come up against in their next Premier League game.
Ferdinand was released this summer and signed with QPR, and is expected to be tasked with keeping new United signing Falcao quiet this weekend.
If the defender can surprise United, he may give them reason to regret not keeping him around, and not only for the advice he is able to hand out.
