Manchester City morning news: Carragher's joke over Milner, Jovetic fitness scare

A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher poked fun at Manchester City star James Milner after he won his 50th England cap against Switzerland.

Milner came on in the second half to replace Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Carragher suggested that Milner could make the 100 cap marks but that he’d achieve the remarkable feat in sub appearances.

Stevan Jovetic has given Manchester City an injury worry ahead of this weekend’s game against Arsenal.

He limped out of training with Montenegro with a hamstring problem and is now rated a doubt for the game on Saturday.

The news comes less than two weeks after City allowed another striker, Alvaro Negredo, to join Valencia on loan.

Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has praised Manchester City star David Silva for his role in the 5-1 win against Macedonia.

Del Bosque cites the freedom Silva enjoyed during the game as the reason he was able to hurt the Macedonian defence.

“Certainly Silva was one of the players who was most prominent tonight. This was because of the freedom he had,” said the boss.
