Italy to trust Zaza-Immobile again, Balotelli must hope they misfire

Antonio Conte is expected to field Simone Zaza and Ciro Immobile up front for Italy's Euro 2016 qualification opener against Norway.

Italy kick off their European Championships qualification campaign this evening with a trip to Norway and Antonio Conte looks likely to trust most of the men who beat Holland.

The Azzurri are looking to banish memories of their disastrous World Cup campaign under new boss Conte, who led Juventus to three consecutive titles.

Conte has already made significant changes and enjoyed an impressive 2-0 win in a friendly against Holland last week.

He looks likely to again trust striking duties to Sassuolo star Simone Zaza and Borussia Dortmund's Ciro Immobile with Sebastian Giovinco, Stephan El Shaarawy and Mattia Destro on the bench.

Liverpool star Mario Balotelli is suspended but could find it tough to win back his place if Conte's chosen men continue to deliver.

Juventus legend Gigi Buffon is expected to return between the posts for Salvatore Sirigu and reported Liverpool target Antonio Candreva may start.

Italy probable (3-5-2): Buffon; Ranocchia, Bonucci, Astori; Candreva, Florenzi, De Rossi, Giaccherini, De Sciglio; Zaza, Immobile. Subs.: Sirigu, Ogbonna, Maggio, Darmian, Pasqual, Verratti, Poli, Parolo, Destro, El Shaarawy, Giovinco, Perin.
