The next-gen 2D RPG gets funded on Kickstarter, a Dreamcast version is due next year.
Yes, you read that right, the Dreamcast is getting a new game and seeing as today is the 15th anniversary of the US Dreamcast launch date (9/91999) it seems like the perfect time to fanfare the news.
Elysian Shadows (also currently due for PC and Ouya) will be available for Dreamcast next year after smashing through its Kickstarter funding goal in August. A modern take on your old school 2D RPGs the likes of Zelda, Elysian Shadows blends pixel art with 3D environments, dynamic lighting, shadows, physics and positional audio.
The game is also promising platforming elements, a dynamic day/night cycle that in turn affects NPC behaviour, customisation elements - through the use of abilities and talent trees and a huge map to explore.
