Adryan says he knew about 'brilliant' Leeds player prior to signing

Adryan says that he knew about Billy Sharp even before singing for Leeds United.

Adryan has revealed that he knew of Billy Sharp before even joining Leeds United.

In an interview with LUTV the Brazilian playmaker has explained that he had heard all about Sharp before agreeing his switch to the Yorkshire club and praised the striker's talent.

When asked what he knew of Leeds before joining, Adryan responded: "Billy Sharp. He's brilliant."

Sharp joined Leeds from Southampton over the summer and their potential new strike force is sure to fill supporters with excitement.

Adryan has a skill set which should get the best out of the player who he knew the qualities of before agreeing to a season-long-loan.

Sharp is a predator inside the box and with the creativity of a player like the 20-year-old Flamengo loanee behind him he should thrive.

Adryan has been compared to Kaka in his homeland and his capture has created a massive sense of anticipation around Elland Road.

The Brazilian youth international made his first appearance for his new club yesterday in an under-21 match against Ipswich Town.

In the game he showed flashes of the South American flair that he will be hoping to bring to the first-team when he does make his debut, but it was not enough to stop the Whites losing 3-2.

Adryan will be hoping he did enough to impress, though, and that could be his last game at youth-team level.

The diminutive attacker is expected to be a key part of Leeds' first-team this season and he could be in line for a start against Birmingham City, who the club take on at the weekend.

The fixture will be one that the Whites will be desperate to win as they look to climb up the table.

Leeds parted ways with inexperienced head-coach David Hockaday recently and are still in search of a new manager, but the hope is that Neil Redfearn will be able to guide the club to success whilst Massimo Cellino ponders who next to make his permanent boss.
