Any wrestling fan must know Daniel Bryan’s story by now. Hated by the authority and dubbed a B plus player, he rose through the ranks to become one of the most exciting WWE Superstars of his generation.
Culminating in his WWE World Heavyweight Championship winning match at Wrestlemania XXX. More joy was to follow for Bryan as that very week he then married his partner Brie Bella. Then disaster struck when he lost his father and shortly after received the news that he was carrying a neck injury that would require surgery and see him out of the ring for a prolonged spell. Eventually he was out long enough for The Authority to strip him of his title shortly after it was revealed he would need more surgery.
However his wife Brie Bella (Or should that now be Brie Bryan?) may have shed some light on a possible return date.
Marc Middleton of www.wrestlingInc.com had this to say.
“Brie Bella reportedly said in a media interview for Total Divas this past week that her husband Daniel Bryan will not need a second surgery as expected. Doctors made their decision this past week."
"Brie added that Bryan is going through rehab and is slowly regaining strength in his right arm. There's still no word on when he will be back in action but WWE officials are hoping for three months from now.”
As I’m sure we can all agree this is great news but should we take caution with it? Whilst we would love to see Bryan back in the ring and once again sticking it to The Authority I’m sure we would rather he wasn't rushed back too soon risking another injury. Let’s not forget that three months time will take us up to Decembers TLC (Tables, Ladders and Chairs) event which would likely be too punishing for someone just returning from a long spell on the sidelines with injury.
It is also worth noting that whilst Daniel Bryan has not left the conscious of the WWE Universe, and that Brie Bella’s feud with Stephanie McMahon has certainly helped with that, it may take a while for him to find a new story arc to build his momentum once more.
So for now let’s just enjoy some good news and hope we see Daniel Bryan back and fit as soon as possible, so we can all once again be chanting YES! YES! YES!
