Michael Palin helps to resurrect The Clangers

The Clangers

The globe-trotting, ex-Python to do the narration in The Clangers new series..

Nostalgic Brits with a soft spot for The Clangers will be warmed to hear the whistling, extra terrestrial, mouse puppets will be coming back to the TV.

The all new Clangers series will be voiced by Monty Python legend Michael Palin, who takes up the honours in place of the show’s late co-creator Oliver Postgate.

The show is being produced by original co-creatior Peter Firmin alongside Oliver Postgate’s son Daniel Postgate

Approvingly Firmin noted that “Michael Palin was my first and favourite choice, so of course I'm absolutely delighted.”

“Among other things, he's been a warm and charming guide for us all in his extensive travels around this world, “added Firmin, “so it seems wonderfully appropriate that he should pack his bags once more, go off across the starry expanse of space and do the same for the world of the Clangers."

Being made with help from CBeebies, Coolabi Group, Smallfilms and Sprout, The Clangers will be back on TV in spring 2015.
