Tottenham latest, Kane praises Pritchard, youngster's delight over cup win

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening.

Tottenham striker Harry Kane has praised teammate Alex Pritchard after he was given his first England under-21 cap during the side's 1-0 win over Lithuania, with Kane scoring the winner.

The forward is quoted by the Tottenham website, saying: “I’ve know Pritch for a long time now, he’s always been a top player and it was great to see him make his debut for the Under-21s.

“He deserves it. He works hard and he’s now getting his rewards.

“He’s a flair player, exciting to watch and every time he gets the ball you are waiting for him to take a player on or do a trick or two. He’s also got a great delivery and can finish, so he has all the ability.”

Pritchard is currently on loan in the Championship with Brentford as he continues his development.

The Tottenham youth side was in action towards the end of last week, and managed to lift the Under-18s Champions Cup.

Spurs faced Everton and Real Madrid in the group stage, and ended up beating Benfica in the final, to the delight of one of the youngsters Ryan Loft.

He told the club's website: “This is the first trophy we’ve won in a little while, so it’s been a great experience and it’ll give us a massive boost going forward. Our confidence is high and hopefully this isn’t going to be the last silverware we win as a team.”
