Chelsea and Manchester City stars feature as Spain get their Euro 2016 adventure under way but Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla misses out.

Spain: Casillas, Juanfran, Sergio Ramos, Raul Albiol, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Koke, Fabregas, Silva, Pedro, Paco Alcacer

Vicente Del Bosque will be expecting a big improvement from his team heading into this evening’s match against Macedonia.

Spain will still be trying to work out what went wrong during the World Cup in Brazil, where they failed to get out of the group stages despite having several top quality players in their ranks.

Manchester City midfielder David Silva has defended the way Spain play their football against accusations that the Spanish have been worked out and need to re-think in terms of their system and tactics.

There is plenty of Premier League representation over the course of Spain’s qualifying campaign with Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta a key figure in defence while Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla will rival new Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas for the accolades in the middle of the team.

It will also be interesting to see how the Spanish get on without the key figure of Chelsea forward Diego Costa leading the attack.
