Arsenal morning news: Arteta and Giroud tipped to sign new contracts

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

Arsenal duo Mikel Arteta and Olivier Giroud have both been tipped for new contracts at the Emirates.

Arteta is one of the most experienced midfielders at Arsenal’s disposal while Giroud is one of the club’s primary attacking threats.

Arteta is thought to be a priority for the club with his contract set to expire next summer.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey says he isn’t jealous of the international success of his teammates.

Arsenal is home to several of Germany’s World Cup winning side from earlier this summer and Rambo says he’s inspired by what they achieved.

“I am not jealous or anything of them winning the tournament. But the big thing about watching those games was thinking about hopefully being there with Wales and what it would be to go to a World Cup or a European Championship,” he told reporters.

The Mirror claims Arsenal will move for the double signing of Iker Casillas and Sami Khedira of Real Madrid.

Casillas has been linked with an exit ever since Keylor Navas arrived at the club earlier this summer.

Arsenal’s interest in Khedira is well known as Arsene Wenger is reportedly still keen to sign a holding midfielder.
