Speaking to Arsenal’s official website, the Costa Rica international revealed what he thought of the Spaniard, as well as hinting that he will fight hard for a starting berth of his own this season.
“I must say that Santi Cazorla has some exceptional technical skills,” Campbell said.
“He can take corners or free-kicks equally with his right or left foot. That’s some technique! That is a very unusual thing to see and it has left me astonished.”
Campbell impressed on loan last season and following a successful World Cup he returned to North London with many expecting him to be given first-team chances. But he knows it will not be easy.
“I presume that every attacking player in the squad will fight with me for a starting place,” he added. “But I am my biggest competitor. I have to train hard and get better day after day. Being here is a great opportunity for me.”
The arrival of Danny Welbeck has added to the competition for places at Arsenal, but Campbell is saying all the right things, and he has impressed in recent times both in Greece and at international level so surely his time will come.
Speaking to Talk Sport, Smith said, “Another trophy would be great this season, but I can’t see them winning the title, I really can’t.
“They’re still a few furlongs behind Chelsea and Manchester City, as well as they might have done in the summer transfer window.”
