Last night saw the New York Red Bulls take on Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer. And the home team won the game 2-1 with goals from their two star players Bradley Wright-Phillips and Thierry Henry.
For BWP it was his 21st goal of an incredible campaign for the Red Bulls. But for Henry, it was an even more important landmark.
While Henry may have scored a fantastic 228 goals for Arsenal during his legendary spell at The Emirates and Highbury he is not as potent a goalscorer for New York. However in 122 games he has now scored 50 goals for the team.
It was a trademark finish from Henry, even if he moved a bit slower than his Arsenal days. He cut in from the left, and smashed a right footed drive into the top corner.
It was also an important win, as it moved the Red Bulls up the table in MLS, moving them closer to a play-off spot.
Henry will go down as a club legend with the Red Bulls. The Frenchman is now just eight goals behind former Aston Villa forward Juan Pablo Angel as the club's record goalscorer to go with his 37 assist record with the club.
