Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo has been heavily involved in media speculation over the last couple of days due to comments made about his former club Manchester United.
The Portuguese international holds the Red Devils close to his heart after an incredibly successful six-year spell at the club.
Ronaldo has always said that he would love to return to Old Trafford, but such comments should be taken with a pinch of salt due to his current affiliation with La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Reports in the press, however, have taken the 29-year-old’s latest comments both on United and Real Madrid’s summer transfer activity as a sly gibe at Los Merengues.
Whilst all the comments have been unnecessarily fabricated, Ronaldo’s partner and Russian model Irina Shayk has weighed in by suggesting she would be open to move away from the Spanish capital.
Unfortunately for United, her ideal destination is not Manchester but Paris after revealing to the French press how much she loves the French capital.
“Cristiano Ronaldo to PSG? I do not know. "Will I convince Ronaldo to sign for PSG? I don’t get involved in his footballing matters. I just know that I love Paris". She said, quoted by the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo.
"Whenever I come to Paris I'm happy, people are pleasant and everything is absolutely perfect. Notre-Dame, the Louvre ... Paris reminds me of St. Petersburg, with its great historical angles, I hope to spend more time in this splendid city in the future.”
Cristiano Ronaldo scored 84 Premier League goals in 196 appearances whilst at Old Trafford, helping the club win the title three times as well as the Champions League in 2008.
He has been nominated in the UEFA Team of the Year for the last seven years consecutively, the only player to achieve such a feat.
