Tottenham Hotspur fans woke up this morning to reports claiming Mauricio Pochettino wanted to bring Fredy Guarin to White Hart Lane in the future.
The Inter Milan midfielder has been linked with practically every big club in Europe in recent months, but Spurs were said to be facing competition from Real Madrid to sign the Colombia international in January.
However Guarin’s agent has now had his say, and it is not good news for those Tottenham fans keen to see the player in North London.
In quotes published by Calcio Mercato, Marcelo Ferreyra said, “I want to clarify that Guarin has never asked to be sold. Fredy is happy at Inter. It has always been and continues to be so.
And as for those rumours linking him with a winter exit, Ferreyra said, “We absolutely do not think about the market. Fredy is happy at Inter and does not need to go anywhere else.”
Of course things could change when the transfer window opens once more, but for now it appears the player linked with Tottenham is perfect happy where he is.
And if Pochettino’s summer signings bed in as he hopes they do, a dip into the winter sales may not even be necessary.
