Following the close of the summer transfer window, Spanish publication Marca has been conducting a number of polls to find out who the Spanish audience believe have been the best signings of the season.
In one of seven categories, supporters were asked to vote who has been the best striker signing this summer by one of La Liga’s 20 clubs.
The biggest name to head to the Iberian country was undoubtedly Luis Suarez, as the Uruguayan international traded Anfield for Barcelona.
Suarez had a tremendous season for Liverpool, scoring 31 Premier League goals and laying on a number of assists for his teammates.
He was the focal point of the Reds’ attack and his presence and endeavour led Barcelona to splash out a whopping £75 million to acquire his services.
In a shock result in the poll, however, the Catalans' new recruit only managed third place as he was beaten to the prize of best summer signing by Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo.
The Spanish international moved to Valencia on a season-long loan deal with a reported €27 million obligatory purchase clause included, a move which has certainly endeared new Valencia owner Peter Lim to the Mestalla faithful.
The 29-year-old only joined the Citizens from Sevilla last summer, moving to the Etihad in a deal rumoured to be worth £16.4 million.
Despite netting 23 goals in 48 appearances in all completions in his debut campaign at City, the return to form of fellow strikers Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic saw Negredo start this campaign out of the first-team picture.
Nonetheless, his time in England can be deemed a huge success as he helped the Manchester club secure their second Premier League title in three years.

Rodrigo (Valencia) – 7.6%
