Micah Richards may not be in the England fold anymore and is not even in the country, but he is still following the fortunes of the Three Lions and knows all about the injury to Daniel Sturridge.
The Liverpool striker suffered a thigh problem during a training session at St George's Park on Friday and has been ruled out of England’s Euro 2016 Group E qualifier against Switzerland in Basel on Monday.
It has also been reported in the British media that the 25-year-old could be on the sidelines for three weeks, which would be a massive blow to Liverpool in their quest for Premier League and Champions League glory.
Richards is currently in Italy, having joined Serie A outfit Fiorentina on a season-long loan deal from Manchester City on transfer deadline day.
However, Sturridge’s injury news has reached him, and the 26-year-old right-back has wished him a speedy recovery on social networking site Twitter.
Gutted to hear about @D_Sturridge injury! Your country needs you. Get back soon x— Micah Richards (@MicahRichards) September 5, 2014
Richards made his debut for Fiorentina against FC Lugano in a friendly match on Friday evening.
The England international played for 60 minutes at the Stadio Comunale Ascona and expressed his delight at doing so on Twitter, with former Liverpool and Manchester City star Dietmar Hamann wishing him well in his stint in Italy.
