Usain Bolt has jokingly told Mario Balotelli to make ‘a few mistakes’ when he plays against Manchester United for Liverpool.
Bolt, a well documented Red Devils fan, says that he urged his friend Balotelli to move to England this summer and complete a move to Liverpool, although he wants his performance levels to drop against United.
"We're talking, and I tell him England is the best place to be," Bolt said to ESPN.
"I talk to him and I said listen, when you play against Man United, just make a few mistakes. We'll be alright."
United take on Liverpool for the first time this campaign on 13th Decemeber and it is unlikely that Balotelli will heed the advice given to him by the Jamaican sprint star.
The Italian has already expressed a desire to impress at Anfield, in what is considered a make or break move for him.
At the age of 24 Balotelli can no longer be considered a youngster and he must show signs of maturity in his game after completing his move.
The former AC Milan striker has a reputation for making headlines off the pitch as well as on it, but he has been urged to curb his unpredictable behaviour now he is back in England.
The initial signs have been good, and his demeanour on the pitch on his debut was exemplary.
The standard of his performance was the only-eye catching thing on display in his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt, as the Reds cruised to a 3-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur.
Balotelli’s threat up-front appeared to give Brendan Rodgers’ side an added impetus and they crushed their fellow top-four hopefuls with an excellent attacking showing.
Liverpool will now be hoping to build upon this after the international break and prove that they are able to consolidate their position in the top four even without Luis Suarez.
