Ronaldo to Manchester United? £63m star indicates he wouldn't be happy

James Rodriguez has suggested he would not be keen on Cristiano Ronaldo rejoining Manchester United.

Former Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo set hearts racing among fans when he admitted his desire to return to the club.

He is quoted in The Telegraph, stating: "I love Manchester, everyone knows that. Manchester is in my heart.

"I left many good friends there. The supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day."

It won't be all that easy, Ronaldo signed a new contract last summer at Real Madrid taking him up until 2018, but at 33, he may still have plenty to offer.

One Real Madrid player appears extra keen that the Ballon d'Or winner hangs around, is new £63 million Galactico, James Rodriguez.

Just within the past 24 hours, the Colombian international has been discussing his desire for Ronaldo to stick around for an extended period at Real Madrid.

He told Marca: "I've hit it off well with him and I hope we can be together for a long time."

If Ronaldo were to somehow force a move to Manchester this summer, or the next, it can be taken as read that there would be plenty of disappointed faces at Real, beginning with Rodriguez.

The bad news for United is this is far more difficult to envisage happening than it sounds. Next summer Ronaldo has three years left on his deal, and last year when he had two remaining, Madrid refused to budge.

They may have sold Mesut Ozil, Angel di Maria, and Xabi Alonso over the past 12 months, but make no mistake, Real are a buying club and not a selling one.

The duo were only permitted to leave due to the huge signings of Gareth Bale and Rodriguez himself. Ronaldo falls into this category of top tier stars at Madrid, while Di Maria spoke of feeling undervalued after his sale.
