Five under-21 stars who could have an impact on Aston Villa's season

Villa Nextgen

Aston Villa have some great under-21 players who could feature for Paul Lambert this season.

Aston Villa have one of the best youth setups in the country, which provides Paul Lambert with a good pool of younger players to dip into throughout the season.

Villa have confirmed their 25 man squad for the new Premier League season as well as their under-21 list. With no restrictions on the number of under-21 players, Lambert could use several throughout a long campaign.

Here are five Villa under-21 classed players who could have a big impact on the club’s season.

Jack Grealish

Grealish is a midfielder who has already been attracting positive comments from his more experienced colleagues.

He’s left an impression on the mind of first team star Andreas Weimann who has already commented on the way he progressed and made a difference during the club’s pre-season. He's already made his Premier League debut.

Lewis Kinsella

Kinsella is one of the most versatile defenders in the under-21 setup.

His strongest position is at left-back but he’s capable of also playing on either side of central defence. He could be as cover if injuries or suspensions accumulate.

Callum Robinson

A versatile forward who can play through the middle or down either side of the attack.

He’s currently playing for the under-21 side but has a squad number with the first team, which suggests that he’s in Paul Lambert’s mind when it comes to who the Villa boss may be thinking about introducing to the first team.

Graham Burke

The 20-year-old also has a first team squad number at the club.

He’s playing above his age level with the Republic of Ireland under-21 team and seems to be one of the most talented attacking players at the club. He spent time in the football league last season with Shrewsbury.

Jordan Graham

Graham plays down the right hand side of midfield although he’s also well suited to playing from the left.

He’s an extremely quick player fighting to get back into the England youth setups after dropping out at under-17 level. He’s versatile enough to play out wide or cut inside and could feature during the FA Cup.
