Manchester United linked midfielder plagued by troublesome knee all summer
Manchester United linked midfielder Arturo Vidal has only just returned to fitness after a tough pre-season, but could have taken a step backwards.
Vidal played through the pain of a knee problem at the World Cup, and was unable to feature in any of Juventus' friendly matches while on tour in Asia last month.
It is reported: "The Juventus star had to quit a routine training session in Miami, where Chile face Mexico and Haiti in friendlies, but is set to undergo a series of tests before returning to Italy
With the upcoming fixtures non-competitive, Juventus will surely be pushing to get their £50 million rated star back to Italy as soon as possible.
The news is a minor vindication for Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, who reportedly cooled his interest in the midfielder due to concerns over his knee.
It will not be news anybody wants to hear however, for Vidal is a sensationally talented player, and if he can regain 100 per cent fitness, United may even revisit their interest in January or next summer.
Had United spent the money on him, only to see him get injured so soon on international duty, the disappointment would be crushing.
