100% pass accuracy - Tottenham linked star impresses for Italy

Tottenham Hotspur linked Mattia de Sciglio put up an impressive statistic against Holland.

Italy defeated Holland in an international friendly on Thursday night getting the Antonio Conte era off to an impressive start.

The contest was effectively over after 10 minutes, with Ciro Immobile scoring early, before Bruno Martins Indi's red card in conceding a penalty allowed Daniel de Rossi to double the lead through an early spot kick.

Holland were disappointing, registering just one shot on target as the life after Louis van Gaal got off on the wrong foot, with Guus Hiddink in charge.

A notable performance in the victory came from AC Milan's Mattia de Sciglio, who was the only player on the pitch to complete 100 per cent of his passes.

Playing at left-wing back, the 21-year-old was as composed as they come, landing one shot on target from one attempt and making one successful tackle, before being substituted after 67 minutes.

His display was even more impressive due to the fact he was playing out of position; de Sciglio is typically a right-back for Milan.

He already has 14 senior caps for his country, and was linked with a late switch to Tottenham Hotspur in the transfer window.

FootballItalia reported only a fortnight ago that when Milan enquired with Spurs about Roberto Soldado, they were told, only if the Premier League side could have de Sciglio in part-exchange, and the Serie A side decided not to take discussions further.

With Kyle Walker ruled out for the immediate future and having fitness problems last season, de Sciglio would have been a clever addition - and his versatility demonstrated last night against top quality opposition what a talent he is.
