Billy Sharp may have joined Leeds United less than a month ago, but his ultimate dream is to play for Newcastle United.
The 28-year-old moved to the West Yorkshire club from Southampton in mid-August on a two-year contract and has already been among the goals.
The Englishman’s arrival has increased hopes among many fans that perhaps this term Leeds could at least reach the Championship playoffs, although the Whites’ recent run of results has pushed them closer to the relegation zone.
Sharp, though, seems to harbour hopes of playing for Premier League outfit Newcastle in the future.
When asked which club he has dreamed of playing for, the former Sheffield United star told High5it: ‘Newcastle United’.
Perhaps Sharp’s Newcastle ambition has something to do with the fact that Magpies and England legend Alan Shearer is his football icon.
However, just because Sharp dreams of playing for Newcastle does not mean that he is not committed to Leeds. The 28-year-old is one of the key players in the current Leeds team, and like the rest of his teammates, he will be keen on taking the club back to the Premier League.
Whether that happens this season or not remains to be seen.
