Latest Chelsea news: Where Jose preferred Torres to go, Zouma banter and more

All the latest Chelsea news including Jose Mourinho preferring Fernando Torres to move to Inter, Kurt Zouma settling into Stamford Bridge life and more.

Former Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is officially a Milanista and, while many Blues supporters will be relieved that the Spaniard is no longer a part of the playing roster at Stamford Bridge, manager Jose Mourinho would prefer it if he had gone elsewhere, rather than AC Milan.

Why? Because Mou is an Interista - a member of the club - Internazionale - who are count Milan as their nemesis.

"I'm an Interista and I would have preferred if he'd gone to Inter," said Mourinho.

"However, I hope that he does equally well at Milan. What I can say about Fernando is that as a person and a professional, there is nothing to doubt about him."

He continued: "He's a fantastic boy and a great professional. However, he needed a change of scenery."

One of the club's recent recruits, winter window signing Kurt Zouma, has said that walking into Cobham to train with senior level Chelsea players is a bizarre feeling as he is used to playing with and against them when on his PlayStation.

"They are great players that you are used to seeing on TV, taking on Playstation," he said. "I said almost from the outset that I can't really approach them. When you are on the field you think, 'Wow! That's how to play football'. It goes fast, very fast. The match against Everton was crazy.

"When they told me to warm up, I went so fast. It is very exciting and I was almost too keen."

Zouma, a prospect at centre back, also said that he gets banter from a lot of the staff. Notably, from Diego Costa who has slapped him round the face and even from Mourinho, who cannot believe he is still a teenager due to the sheer size of him.

And finally, the Telegraph claim that Thibaut Courtois is ready to sign a new contract that will more than double his current £30,000 per week earning capacity.
