Former £8.9 million Everton signing secures loan move to get career back on track

Former Everton signing Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has signed with Torpedo Moscow.

Since being sold by Everton in 2012, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov has not had the career in Russia he had hoped.

He signed with Spartak Moscow but fell out of favour, and lost his place in the international side.

In January he was loaned to Anzhi, and despite a strong impact of two goals and three assists in seven starts, he could not stop the side suffering a surprise relegation.

As the Russian transfer deadline ticked down, the former £8.9 million Everton winger found himself surplus to requirements once again at Spartak, and forced to settle for another loan move.

This time the 29-year-old has switched more locally, signing for newly promoted side Torpedo Moscow.

Russian newspaper Izvestia report he was wanted by Turkish side Gaziantepspor, but was unable to agree personal terms.

Torpedo sit 14th of 16 teams in the Russian Premier League after six games, with Spartak in sixth, and the midfielder will be keen to avoid adding a successive relegation to his CV.

They are the third Moscow team he has played for in his career, playing for Lokomotiv Moscow before the Toffees. Intriguingly Torpedo's next game is against Spartak, but it is unclear if the terms of Bilyaletdinov's loan will permit him to play.

The winger scored nine goals in all competitions for Everton in two seasons, with seven coming in the first season. After failing to kick on in the second, manager David Moyes made the decision to sell him.
