Last Thursday, we learned that Arsenal would be facing Anderlecht, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray in Group D of the Champions League, and attention immediately turned to how the Gunners can get out of the group and into the knockout stages of the competition given that it's a tricky line-up.
Just days ago, Galatasaray right back Emmanuel Eboue offered some words of support to his former club, saying that he believed both his current and former employers would make it out of the group.
"I am looking forwards to facing Arsenal," Eboue said. "I believe Galatasaray has what it takes to make it out of this group along with Arsenal. You can see what a challenge Beşiktaş gave them, they were so close to making it through to the group stages, sometimes you just need a little luck."
Yet now, Eboue's desire to face his former club Arsenal has been cruelly taken away from him, as manager Cesare Prandelli has announced his squad for the Champions League group stage - and Ivorian international Eboue hasn't made the cut.
New signings Blerim Dzemaili and Goran Pandev have been named, as have familiar faces such as Fernando Muslera, Aurelien Chedjou, Felipe Melo, Hamit Altintop, Wesley Sneidjer and Bruma.
The full squad for Galatasaray is below.
