Gamers in the United States have been able to play EA's The Sims 4 since Tuesday this week, with Europeans receiving the game today, and it's hitting the UK tomorrow. However, already there have been reports that people have been downloading pirated versions of the game.
It's never a good idea to download games illegally, however for those who have been so bold as to do it the creators of The Sims 4 have a surprise for them - the entire game turns pixelated.
For those of you who have played The Sims games you'll know that whenever your Sims use the toilet, bath, or shower, their bodies are covered in pixels to preserve their modesty. EA and Maxis have simply used this for the entire game to make it practically unplayable - when a Sim visits the bathroom to do their business, the screen turns all pixelated.
Those who have downloaded the game illegally are said to be taking to forums, including the official Sims forums, to ask about 'the bug' and how to fix it. Oops! Thanks, IncGamers.
The Sims 4 is available in the US and Europe now, with the UK release date set for 5th September, tomorrow, on PC and Mac.
The Sims 4 has already been subject to pirates, but they won't get far. What do you think of the surprise?
