Lewis Holtby was involved in his first training session at Hamburg on Tuesday after clinching his loan move.
Out of favour at Tottenham Hotspur, Holtby was permitted to head back to the Bundesliga, previously playing for Schalke.
The 23-year-old was presented to fans and the media after the session, and told German newspaper BILD:
"I am delighted to be here. I just want to play and help the HSV to a positive position again and play football regularly.
"Dietmar Beiersdorf (sporting director) completely won me over in the talks. He did a very good job."
The paper report that Hamburg have an option to buy Holtby at the end of the season for €7 million.
