Manchester City latest: Iheanacho loan move claim; Guidetti vow if Celtic deal falls through

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the Etihad…

Manchester City striker John Guidetti has said he will fight for his place at the Etihad Stadium if a proposed loan move to Celtic does not go through.

The front-man’s move could still be okayed after the SFA vowed to appeal to FIFA on Celtic’s behalf, but if the move fails to materialise, Guidetti will remain upbeat.

In quotes published by the Manchester Evening News, the Swedish star said, “It would be fantastic at Celtic but if it doesn’t go through I will continue to train with a fantastic team at Manchester City and fight to take a spot on the bench, at first.”

With Alvaro Negredo no longer at the club, Guidetti could be needed at times if he does remain in the Premier League, especially given the injury history of Sergio Aguero.

In other news, Negredo has reportedly been booed by Valencia fans after he allegedly refused to kiss the Spanish club’s badge.

The Independent reports that the player chose not to go through with the action, prompting jeers from the home fans.

He did however go on to say that he “will have enough time to kiss it in the near future.”

And finally, reports that City will send Kelechi Iheanacho on loan in January.

The website claims to have spoken to a City official, who confirmed the Nigerian youngster will be given the chance to play elsewhere come the New Year, although there is no mention of which club he may move to.
