Radamel Falcao is preparing to start a loan spell at Manchester United, but he could easily have been pulling on a Juventus shirt.
The Italian champions were known to be looking for a new striker after £15.8 million summer signing Alvaro Morata picked up a knee injury in his first training session.
The Old Lady were linked to several marksmen, including Stevan Jovetic, but around deadline day stories started to circulate that they were all in for Falcao.
In the end, Manchester United pounced for a £6 million season long loan from Monaco, but it seems that Juventus didn't miss out by much.
"But only because another party got in the middle and prevented the deal.
"I can assure you, however, that Falcao was very close to signing for Juventus."
Falcao also reportedly rejected approaches from Manchester City and Arsenal on a hectic deadline day and signed a £265,000 per week deal with Manchester United.
