Who were the best goalkeepers during August? Lloris, Schmeichel and more

Hugo Lloris

Leicester City, Manchester City, Swansea City, Tottenham Hotspur and Hull City stars all feature.

The first month of the Premier League has come to an end and there have already been some interesting performances from teams at either end of the table.

Manchester United are still chasing their first win while Burnley and Leicester City look as though they’re going to be scrapping hard over the rest of a very long season.

We’ve taken a look at the stats to assess the best goalkeepers during August.

Kasper Schmeichel Leicester GK 14 3 270
Adrián West Ham GK 11 3 270
Robert Green QPR GK 10 3 270
Hugo Lloris Spurs GK 10 3 270
Julian Speroni Crystal Palace GK 10 3 270

It’s Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel who led the way in terms of the most saves during August. Unfortunately for the team, that shows the defence is giving their ‘keeper plenty to deal with.

Joe Hart Man City GK 5 3 270
Lukasz Fabianski Swansea GK 4 3 270
Robert Green QPR GK 2 3 270
Hugo Lloris Spurs GK 2 3 270
Vito Mannone Sunderland GK 2 3 270

Manchester City shot stopper Joe Hart made more punches than any other goalie during August. What that shows is that the England man is reading the game well and is always looking for ways to take the pressure off of his defence.
