The first month of the Premier League has come to an end and there have already been some interesting performances from teams at either end of the table.
Manchester United are still chasing their first win while Burnley and Leicester City look as though they’re going to be scrapping hard over the rest of a very long season.
We’ve taken a look at the stats to assess the best goalkeepers during August.
|Julian Speroni||Crystal Palace||GK||10||3||270|
It’s Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel who led the way in terms of the most saves during August. Unfortunately for the team, that shows the defence is giving their ‘keeper plenty to deal with.
|Joe Hart||Man City||GK||5||3||270|
Manchester City shot stopper Joe Hart made more punches than any other goalie during August. What that shows is that the England man is reading the game well and is always looking for ways to take the pressure off of his defence.

Former Arsenal goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is in great form for Swansea. He came and caught the ball frequently, removing the pressure on his defence to clear. It’s also interesting that Chelsea star Thibaut Courtois appears in this section. He’s clearly not intimidated by the physical nature of the Premier League.

Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris was the most accurate in terms of goal kicks by some distance. He’s been effective turning defence into attack and is able to pick long balls and setup Spurs attacks as soon as the dead ball is back in play.
Hull City’s Allan McGregor was the only goalkeeper to save a spot kick during August, making up for his defence giving away a foul inside Hull’s penalty area.
