Ian Wright has explained his wish that Arsenal had attempted to sign Javier Hernandez.
Arsenal legend Ian Wright will certainly be pleased Arsenal have signed another striker, but before Danny Welbeck's addition he was bemoaning the fact they missed out on a different Manchester United player.
Rather than focus on the available Welbeck, Wright revealed his frustration that Arsenal did not go in for the talented Javier Hernandez, who signed on loan with Real Madrid.
Wright is a long-term admirer of the Mexican, and has previously called on his BBC Radio 5 Live 606 show for Arsenal to go in for him, and did the same on Twitter on deadline day.
Hernandez season long loan to Real Madrid!!! He's a goal scorer. Why didn't AFC sneak in and have a bit of that.— Ian Wright (@IanWright0) September 1, 2014
The former Gunners striker was pleased to welcome new addition Danny Welbeck to the club from Manchester United, doing so on Tuesday morning.
Welcome to " The Arsenal " Danny.— Ian Wright (@IanWright0) September 2, 2014
Was Wright justified in his preference of Hernandez over Welbeck? The two former United strikers' goal record in the Premier League over the past three seasons suggests marginally so.
