Former Manchester United midfielder and Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp have reunited.
The German giants jumped at the chance to re-sign the Japanese playmaker in an £8 million deal once it became apparent he wouldn’t feature prominently during the Louis van Gaal era.
Kagawa was often confined to bit part roles during his time at Old Trafford and Klopp criticised the way he was used by United legend Sir Alex Ferguson.
Klopp commented during the Fergie era that Kagawa was one of the best number tens that he’d ever seen but was confined to a role out on United’s left hand side during his time in England.
The pair clearly have a mutual respect and admiration for each other and it’s no surprise that Klopp seemed delighted when he linked up with Kagawa on his return to the club.
BVB lost their opening Bundesliga match of the season but responded with a win and Kagawa could be a key feature in any success they have over the course of this season.
