Brendan Rodgers’s side took control of the contest right from the start and surged ahead after just eight minutes through Raheem Sterling.
Steven Gerrard scored an historic penalty (click here to read more) four minutes into the second half, and Alberto Moreno wrapped up the scoring with a brilliant solo effort on the hour mark.
The 3-0 win for the Reds at White Hart Lane saw Tottenham’s winning start to the 2014-15 season come to an end.
Spurs legend and 1978 World Cup winner, Osvaldo Ardiles, watched the match and took to social networking site Twitter to give his opinion on the performance of the two sides.

Liverpool deserved to win the match and were much the better team, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side did create chances and came close on a few occasions.
Tottenham have a strong team this term and a tactically astute manager in Pochettino - Spurs are ready to go all out to challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
