The Last of Us Remastered becomes a million seller in its first month on PS4

Sony has revealed the PS4 remaster of Naughty Dog’s  highly praised post-apocalyptic action adventure The Last of Us has broken past the 1 million copies sold mark.

Talking at a press conference in Tokyo, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida, revealed the news stating that both retail sales and digital downloads have been very strong for the game.

After only a month on PS4, The Last of Us Remastered joins a select clique of titles to become 1 million sellers. So far Knack, InFamous: Second Son and Killzone Shadow Fall have made it past the million copies sold mark.

First time round on PS3, The Last of Us broke 1 million copies sold in the first week, becoming the second biggest launch of the year behind Grand Theft Auto V. As of July this year, the game has sold over 7 million copies worldwide.

A new Patch for The Last of Remastered has recently been released bringing in some improvements to the game, most notably in the multiplayer component which has experienced problems with matchmaking since launch. As a gesture of goodwill to gamers whose enjoyment of the multiplayer might have been spoiled, Naughty Dog gave away two free DLC maps.

Recent noises from within Naughty Dog suggest a sequel to The Last of Us isn’t out of the question.
