Manchester United have confirmed new signing Radamel Falcao will wear the number nine shirt.
The number has remained vacant since Dimitar Berbatov's departure to Fulham in 2012, with the club deciding not to promote Danny Welbeck this summer to fill it.
The England forward was sold to Arsenal on deadline day, with United bringing in the big name Colombian.
Falcao signs on a season long loan with an option to buy, and the free scoring forward gives the club added impetus in an attack which has failed to gel this season so far.
Those to previously wear the number nine shirt with success at Manchester United include Sir Bobby Charlton and Andy Cole.
