Radamel Falcao has joined Manchester United on loan from AS Monaco for the 2014-15 season. The Premier League giants made the announcement in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The Colombia international will be on loan at United for the 2014-15 campaign, with the Red Devils retaining the option to buy him on a permanent deal next summer.
Speaking to the Manchester outfit’s official website, Falcao said: ‘I am delighted to be joining Manchester United on loan this season. Manchester United is the biggest club in the world and is clearly determined to get back to the top.
‘I am looking forward to working with Louis van Gaal and contributing to the team’s success at this very exciting period in the club’s history’.
The striker also took to social networking site Twitter to express his joy at moving to United.
Falcao is the final summer signing of manager Louis van Gaal and follows the likes of Angel di Maria and Luke Shaw to Old Trafford.
Widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, the 28-year-old struggled with a long-term injury last season.
However, the former Atletico Madrid star has now regained his fitness and is expected to be a key player in United’s quest to reclaim their place in the top four of the Premier League.
