'Last season pretty bad for all United players, not one' - Hernandez in first Real interview

Javier Hernandez has spoken about Manchester United's horror campaign in 2013-14.

Manchester United are on the brink of snapping up Radamel Falcao from AS Monaco on a season long loan deal, with an option to sign the Colombian at the end of the campaign, should he be a success.

With that in mind they have allowed Javier Hernandez to leave the club for Real Madrid, the Mexican joining on a season long loan deal, again with an option to make the move permanent.

Hernandez had a sensational first season at Manchester United but has struggled since. Last term he was rarely used and after a poor game against Swansea City at the start of the season Louis van Gaal seemingly made his mind up on his services being rendered redundant at Old Trafford.

For Hernandez however he gets a chance to play in a country where he can speak his own language, where a former Mexican legend was a star and of course, he gets the chance to wear the Real Madrid shirt every player craves.

And he alluded to all these points in his first interview as a Los Blancos player. But he did not stop there, he also made a point to make it clear that it was not just he who struggled at Manchester United last term. Here is a snippet of his quotes:

"There is no player in the world who can say that wearing this shirt is not a dream. When I heard about the interest from Real Madrid I had no doubts. I am very happy. Hopefully things go well.

"I will give everything. Back up role? I come to play for Real Madrid. This is a dream come true. I am very happy to be here. I'll try to help the team. I want to thank all those people who support me. They will see a player who is going to deliver in the field.

"Hugo Sánchez had a special career in Real Madrid, I come here to have my own. I am grateful to Real Madrid.

"Last season was pretty bad for all players of Manchester, not one. I know what it takes to wear the Real Madrid shirt. My new home is the Santiago Bernabeu."
