Hull City latest: Bruce hails ‘icing on the cake’; Ben Arfa speaks about move

All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from the KC Stadium…

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has hailed his club’s summer transfer business.

In an interview with BBC Radio Humberside, the Tigers boss said, “I think we’ve done some fantastic business and it’s up to me now to make sure they gel and get up and running again.

Hull signed Mohamed Diame, Gaston Ramirez, Abel Hernandez and Hatem Ben Arfa on Monday, bringing to an end a busy summer of incomings and outgoings at the club.

Bruce spoke of all the signings during his interview, but called the loan signing of Newcastle United’s Ben Arfa “the icing on the cake”.

“He brings that little bit of flair and creativity that every team needs,” Bruce said of the Frenchman.

Speaking of Ben Arfa, the 27-year-old has been talking about his move to the Tigers with the club’s official website.

“Monday was a long day but I’m very happy to be here,” he said.

“I’m very much looking forward to the start of a new challenge. The manager wants me here and that is very important.”

Ben Arfa has not featured for Newcastle this season and will take time to regain his match fitness. But he has more than enough talent to help fire Hull up the table and this could be the start of a very exciting time for Bruce and his team.
