The Colombia international striker is heavily tipped to leave his French club today, either on loan or on a permanent basis.
Over the last couple of days, Manchester City have emerged as the most likely destination, although Arsenal are also believed to be interested in a late swoop.
The long-term injury to striker Olivier Giroud has forced Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger to delve into the market, but doubts remains on whether they are willing to cough up the £55 million needed to sign Falcao on a permanent deal.
United will (likely) have no such problem in splashing the cash, and, according to French radio station RMC, the Manchester outfit have made contact over the former Atletico Madrid striker.
But will they get him? Former United defender Rio Ferdinand, now at Queens Park Rangers, claims that Falcao will not move to United today, adding that he cannot see Juventus star Arturo Vidal or Borussia Dortmund centre-back Mats Hummels joining up with Louis van Gaal’s side either.
Vidal and Hummels both have been linked with moves to United throughout the summer, but it does appear that the Red Devils have kept it too late to snap them up.
While Germany international Hummels has been made the captain of Dortmund, Vidal started Juve’s opening game of the Serie A season on Saturday and looks settled in Turin.
However, everything’s possible on transfer deadline day...
