The transfer deadline day is getting busier by the minute, as clubs across England are making late signings in order to boost their respective squads.
Keep it to yourselves Lionel Messi just landed at our place in a helicopter. Not sure he'll get a game but definitely improves the squad.— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) September 1, 2014
Of course, Barton is joking about Messi joining QPR, but his tweet on such a busy day for clubs does come as refreshing. And it is quite funny.
Signing players is serious business, but it beggars belief that clubs, especially top ones in the Premier League, leave it so late to make their signings.
Take Manchester United for example. They had months to organise their squad, but it is today that the Red Devils are set to sign AS Monaco striker Radamel Falcao on a one-year loan deal.
The Colombia international striker is reported to be arriving in Manchester on a jet from France this evening and will then sign on the dotted line.
Arsenal are also believed to be on the lookout for a striker in order to compensate for the injury to Olivier Giroud, who is out of action for until the New Year.
QPR could also make a late signing, but as of yet, manager Harry Redknapp is yet to confirm the arrival of any player today.
